Black Butte XXI

Wed Oct 28, 2009 1:12 pm

Had one of these last night. It was a roasty complex malt-bomb of a beer! The label states that it was brewed with cocoa nibs, coffee and then portions of it were aged on oak bourbon barrels. It was awesome! I highly recomend getting this if you can. It's a little pricey at 9.99 for a 24 oz bomber but well worth it. I recomend buying at least 2 so you can age one.

Prost!

i had it about a month ago, and really didn't like it at all. i personally thought it had a weird funky taste going on that really didn't seem right. i think it pales in comparison to the abyss.

I actually had both. They had it on tap, and in bottles at my local bottle mart. Didn't care for either. It's okay though... they really outdid themselves this year on the Mirror Mirror, so I am happy about that :aaron

+1 on the mirror mirror, had some of that last night exellent barley wine.

I'm lovin the new law change we had here in MT, used to be limited to beer no> than 8.75% now we can get up to 16%. Can't wait to see what our local brewers can come up with. Big Sky just put out a cherry kriek, but it sounds more like a belgian golden strong brewed on cherries than an actual kriek. I'll post something afer I try it.

Prost
