It seems that 21A IPA actually is a good beer and its not just you guys blowing smoke up Shaun O's arse after all.
21A IPA has placed third for a silver medal at the recent Australian International Beer Awards. Which despite you perhaps not having heard of them, is the second or third biggest pro beer competition in the world.
Not bad Shaun, 1 solitary entry and you grab a silver medal. Nice.
Here's a link to the full results. This year quite a few US craft brewers joined the fray and you guys kicked arse in the IPA sections (both small and large breweries) and picked up bucket loads of medals across the board.
Only 35 gold medal winners out of more than 1000 beers entered, so they were setting tough standards. I know a hell of lot of outstanding beers that only managed to get a bronze, so that 21A IPA must be pretty damn good stuff.
Now all I have to do is convince Shaun to let me be his Australian representative and next year when he wins again.... I can accept his medal for him and make a gracious speech at the awards dinner on his behalf....
Next year get over here Sully, I feel the urge to buy an award winning brewer a beer.
