Hows this for a trip?

Thu Jan 10, 2008 10:19 pm

Ive been wanting to do this for a while and i have a 5 day weekend next week so my plans to complete a Michigan Upper peninsula Brewery tour will be complete. I have a couple buddies doing this with me. We are leaving traverse city friday early afternoon, hittin up Tehquamenon falls brewery and lake superior brewing co, then heading over to marquette to the vierling and hang with Brichards for a couple. We'll prob stay the night in marquette.

Then saturday we'll tour up to houghton to visit an old classmate and mozey over to The Library brewery and Keweenaw breing co, and then up to calumet to jasper ridge brewing co. and back to houghton for the night.

Sunday after a hearty breakfast, we'll be off to hereford and hops in escanaba an then hop on over to the three fold winery that ive heard good stuff from. At this point we'll start our journey home, coss the bridge back to the LP and make a stop at shorts brewing co in bellaire, TBC (my work), then if we're feeling ambitious head to traverse to hit a few of the the micros in there.

Hows that for a weekend vacation?

That will be a blast of a trip. The UP is not exactly the meca of great beer, but we do have a few hidden jems that you will be visiting.

I took a ride out to the three fold vine winery this past summer and their stuff was excellent. It's hard to beat there house red. There melomels are really good as well.

Sounds like fun. I didn't even know that there were breweries up there. I think I may have to mimic your trip this summer. I planned on visiting Mackinaw. Might as well cross the bridge.

Sounds fucking awesome. I was up in the UP back when I was like 16 with my mom and I was amazed by the wilderness up there. All she wanted to do was eat fudge.

It's been too long since I've been on a vacation. You just inspired me, Czguntvillerzgrerceriller....
