Now in its fifth year, the Maltose Falcons return with this year's announcement of next year's "Doug King Memorial Speciality, Experimental & Lager Beer Competition"
As always, any lager beer, speciality beer, beer with weird ingredients, etc will be accepted, judged and filtered through to find the best of the bunch.
Continuing last year's expansion efforts, any serving vessel of beer will be accepted (as long as there is enough for the judges to sample in 2 rounds). Kegs, bottles, growlers, PET bottles with carbonator caps, etc.
And there's a 2 sub style category for "Imperial Anything" (1.080-1.100, 1.100+)
All the details are available on the DKM Competition Page.
Hope ya'll show your support for the BN Army in the Competition!
PS - The competition is named after a long time core member of the Falcons, killed in a traffic accident while transporting the club's gear to the Northern California Homebrewer's Festival. Doug loved brewing everything, but had a real knack for being the guy who would look at the pantry and say "Hmm.. I have a loaf of stale rye bread, that'll mash into sugar!". He's probably best known to folks in California as the guy who won the California State Fair with his clone/imrpovement on Budweiser, known as Dougweiser, the Beer of Kings.
