Can't go to Burning Man? No money for extreme expression? Well, search no more! On Sunday, September 23rd, at the base of Stonehenge, those who are willing can camp out at the Washington State park located just outside of Maryhill and brew extreme beer! What defines extreme brewing? Glad you asked! Any brew that's exciting, or exotic fills the bill. Examples are Port Barrel Aged Belgian Brown Ale, Pumpkin Porter, Cranberry Braggot, Peppercorn-Rye Bock, or whatever your mind can conceive! Campers are advised to arrive Saturday, after 2PM, and prepare for brewing on the Equinox, and what better place than at the foot of Stonehenge in the Columbia Gorge? Come by anytime after 2PM on Saturday, September 22nd to get setup, and have your camp site reservation filled. Brewingman needs YOU!

Looks like it is open for camping:

And here is a map of the park services campgrounds:

And a close-up of the tent camping sites:

I'll be looking forward to seeing all you extreme brewers on the Equinox!

Prost!

Could I please get a PM of all those planning on attending Brewing Man? I just need a rough idea of how many people to expect. Looks like a couple dozen so far, but that just might go up considerably after the Oregonian publishes their article about the event! Looking forward to seeing all you fellow beer brewers, lovers, and drinkers out there :^)

Prost!

Duder, I would so be there if there weren't a trillion beer things going on that weekend. Next year! Keep us posted on how it goes. Any rituals planned?

Make some sort of cannon that shoots cans.

I posted the pics I took at this years event to the website yesterday, so go and check'em out! As for rituals, we burn the old brewing man so that the new brewing man goes forward to next year, when he will be burned and another brewing man for 2008 will rise from the ashes! The campground has an awesome fire pit that's like 10~12 feet across, so bring lotsa WOOD! We had a great turnout, and a half dozen beers were brewed in a very nice sheltered area complete with running water, electricity, and lights! All you need to brew except for the gas and burners! Maybe someone can up the ante and make a batch of fire brewed beer! Now THAT would be extreme!!!

Prost!

I may try to make it next year. Put up a reminder a month or two ahead of times. The weather and location looked great! You guys need to wear black robes or something to make it crazy.

No chicks? Typical.

Off topic: Deschutes Brewery is parking their giant keg shaped bar mobile a few blocks from my apt this weekend. They are going to even have bands. Just some random tour they are doing in Seattle every weekend. Nutty huh? I'm so there...dude.

All times are UTC - 8 hours
