Beer Dinner with the Beer Chef

Wed Aug 08, 2007 8:35 pm

Hey gang,

Just want to pass along the following.

This Saturday August 11th, Join Shaun O'Sullivan with the Beer Chef, Bruce Patton at the Cathedral Hill Hotel for Dinner with the Brewmaster. You can check out the menu and purchase tickets http://www.beer-chef.com/. Also look for a special treat, as Shaun will pour for the first time Watermelon Funk, a collaboration effort with Vinnie Cilurzo from Russian River Brewery, where Shaun took 60 gallons of Watermelon Wheat to Russian River to age the beer for two years in oak casks and referment the beer with brettanomyces & lactobacillus creating a sour Belgian-style beer. A unique and distinctive beer.

Hope to see you all there.

Hey Sully, this works out great. I'll be traveling to SF tomorrow morning for a long, drunken weekend. Are there still seats available for this dealy? Do I have to pay in advance, or can I pay there? Is it a formal gala? TELL ME DAMMIT!

OUT!
PS, I'm pretty sure we're eating lunch at the 21a tomorrow. :D

Scratch that, just got ahold of Bruce and got our reservations. See you and your big head there! Looking forward to the Watermelon Funk. Do I get a discount if I were my BN Army shirt?

Just wanted to follow up on this. This was a really awesome event and I had a lot of fun. The food was great, the 21a beer from cans was great, and the Watermelon Funk was absolutely amazing. Really well done on that one. It was great meeting and hanging with Sully for a while, and Shat and Justin showed up too. All in all it was a great time and I wanted to thank Sully and Bruce for putting it together.

Oh, and the 20th anniversary party at the Toronado... wow, what a drunk fest that was! So many great beers I can't fully remember.

I'll definitely be looking forward to my next trip to the bay area.
