Seeing as I am from Burlington, thought I would put a little plug in for the Vermont Brewers Fest. Granted, there are virtually no accomidations made for homebrewers (and i will see if i can't do something about that) but it is a good place to get your mouth on all of the craft brew that comes out of VT.

if you'll be making near the fest, drop me a PM for any advice on the area.
cheers,

I just got off the phone with one of my friends who just happened upon the festival tonight because he was staying in the same hotel! He was up there for mountain combat school for the army.

He said it was beer heaven.

I happened to be within a hundred or so miles so I checked out session 2. TONS of great beer and one really bad beer. I'd say it was well worth the drive (a friend of mine drove all the way from NJ on Friday just to hit the festival with me). While I was in Vt I also made a point of stopping at a few breweries.
Lunch the first day (7/15) at Long Trail, we got to where we were staying an hour and a half before check in and we were just 4 miles up the road, so...
Dinner at the Alchemist the 17th, and lunch at Harpoon on the 18th got me really ready for the fest. The stand out for me was Trout River, I'd never heard of them before but I really liked their beers.
I have to admit, going home was a little depressing, and it's not just because I have to go to work tomorrow after being off for a month. NJ just isn't very "small brewery friendly." In spite of it's much larger population, we don't have anywhere near the craft beer industry.

All times are UTC - 8 hours
