I'm thinking of entering this one. Question. On their site, it says:

Enter the Eis-Anything style by brewing ANY BJCP Style of beer, and then "Eis"-ing it.

What in the hell is "Eis"-ing it mean? I think it means to freeze it? Or concentrate it? or something. How do you "Eis" is brew?

Two ways I know of. You can start freezing your beer and then scoop out the slushy ice that collects on top every hour or so. Or you can let it freeze solid, drill a hole in the ice, and then rack from below the ice block.

I entered a couple of beers hoping that i will at least place(wishful thinking) One of them placed second in two different comps so we'll see what happens.

It is eisbier, as in frozen then ice removed leaving all the good stuff behind. Another one of those German words. I'm signed up to judge there again this year. They had 520 entries last year. This year it's 830 or so. Competition will be "stiff" to say the least.

Good luck to everybody from the Brewing Network who entered!

Hey I took, third in the new brewer category. Can't wait until the score sheets come back to see the comments.

Sister's in the pantry bottling the suds,
Father's in the cellar mixing up the hops,
