World's Largest Barleywine Festival

I just got back from what I think was the biggest Barleywine festival on the planet at the Dunedin Brewery in Dunedin, Florida. 95 varieties in bottles and 12 more on tap for 107 total. Average age for these beers was, I think, 6 years old.

There were three flights one could sign up for - Old & Rare; Vertical, and Primer. The first is pretty obvious. Vertical featured multiyear runs of the same brand, like the 10 year run of Bigfoot. Primer was a good introduction to many different ages and types.

I particularly enjoyed the rare treat of comparing the same beer from keg vs bottle, and the long vertical runs to see how these big beers change over time.

All times are UTC - 8 hours
