Any one of you fine folks planning on going to the brew at the zoo in Norristown? I'd like to check it out this year, it is right down the road from me after all.

Don't know if I can get "permission" for that one.

Are you going to the Keg Only Competition at Keystone Home Brew tonight? The winner's keg gets served at the Brew at the Zoo. I would but I'm heading back down the shore this afternoon.

I haven't planned on going to keystone. I should though. I haven't gotten to the stage of being "social" with my brewing yet, and the only thing I have ready in a keg got hurt real bad yesterday. I assume that the keystone club's events are really informal and cool? Do people just show up without a keg of beer?

I think I might check out the Brew @the Zoo I was talking to a friend about it the other night.
I hadn't heard bout the keg only comp at Keystone tho, i'll have to look into that. I dunno if I want to bring my 6-6-6 beer to the keg only comp, I think the fruit(raspberry puree) flavor still needs to mellow out a bit. Instead prolly make something nice for the next event in early November (winner of that gets served at Split Rock Great Brews of America) Though when is that event I see it says 2005 on the special events page...http://www.splitrockresort.com/special-events.php Nov. 19 and 20, but on the other page its 18th and 19th... http://www.splitrockresort.com/beerfest/

odd

You can ABSOLUTELY show up with no beer and just judge. It is a popular vote so go and taste all there is to be had and help choose the winners. The top 6 kegs will be whisked off for storage until the Brew at the Zoo, and the losers will usually keep pouring.... Everyone I have met there is pretty cool.

I'm really bummed to miss it but my Wife and Child are expecting me...

Have fun!

Last year Sat & Sun were the 19th & 20th. This year they are the 18th & 19th. Looks like they have their years mixed up on some of the pages. They also have their OWN homebrew comp. at that event.

Oh crap, I forgot to check this thread speyder. Me and my son went to the brew at the zoo. It was fun, and pretty crowded. Most of the region's brews were there. Dogfish had their 90 min IPA on tap and it was my best of show. Troeg's was good, and Yard's PPA was good as well. I hung out with the Keystone Homebrew dudes for a while and had some of the beers they had there from their competition also.

All times are UTC - 8 hours
