So.... no takers huh? Well any of you from Victoria Aus missed out on a pretty good little mini festival.
15 Breweries exhibiting a total of 61 different beers
4 breweries that have opened in the last year or less, some only a month or so ago.
Red Duck Brewery
Emerald Hill Brewery
Bright Brewery
What's Brewing Co
And these new guys produced some of the standouts for the day.
Best Beers - IMHO (not in order)
Red Hill - Imperial Stout (not yet released) Nectar....
Red Duck - The Ox (robust Porter) Also Nectar....
What's Brewing Co - Pale Ale {interesting take on an Aussie(ish) Pale Ale with unusual aromatics}
Bright Brewery - Blowhard Pale (a really well balanced and drinkable APA. Full of flavour)
Red Hill - Hop harvest Ale (an ESB wet hopped from brewery grown fresh harvested hops and then dry hopped from the same lot!!) Goldings out the wazoo
3 Ravens - White ( a sort of cross between a Wit and a heffe that was the best wheat beer of the night by heaps)
And a number of others that were really top notch. And all this without having to drink even one single beer that I had ever tried before, and makeing an effort to stay away from the breweries that i was familiar with.
New beer, Good beer.
Allyou BNers out there, come to Melbourne one of these days and have a beer with me OK. Its starting to get good.
