I am not going until Saturday afternoon. When are you heading home?

Nate

Don't worry Nate...we're not leaving till Sunday. We can set up a meeting point during the session on Saturday as well. Plus, there will probably be a fairly crazy after party on Saturday after the closing session anyway....asuming all the sissy fags can handle all the drinking for 3 days (did I just say that?).

I ecpect to see some BN shirts lads. Our meeting party Thursday should be full of them!!! I'll bring a few as well, incase you "forgot" to purchase one.

SO only one reply here....what you folks say about the a Thursday meeting during the opening session?

Alright - game on! Got the airline tickets, hotel, car, and GABF tickets. Now to hurry up and wait. Sucks though, we have a two hour layover in Vegas. Go figure, to fly from Dallas to Denver you have to go to Vegas first (unless I wanted to pay double for the direct flight). What the hell, it's a road trip!

411 on Down town (LoDo):

- The Falling Rock Taphouse is definatley the old stand by, probalbly the best beer bar in denver (~75 beers on tap), their mato is "no crap on tap". This place is a kick ass bar, we should all probably spend at least one night there, the only problem is that everyone and their fucking brother will be there too.

- The Denver Chop House, a very nice resturant with a brewery, they do some good stuff there, amarillo pale, and wild turkey stout.

- Wynkoop's - Brewery/Bar/Resturant - Pretty good beer from what I've had, they are the ones that sponser the beer drinker of the year award.

- Sandlot Brewery - I believe this place is in coors field, they are Coor's farm brewery, this is where Blue Moon came from, they took a pile of medals at the GABF last year

- Breckenridge (ball park) - I've never been there, but Breckenridge makes some pretty good stuff (471 Double IPA, and 471 Mighty Brown).

- Fado's Irish Pub - Just a bar, they serve comercial beer, some of it interesting some of it not, but the place itself is a pretty cool place to go have a black and tan.

- The Celtic Tavern - Another Irish bar, again with the comercial beer, not quiet as cool a Fado's, but they have Pisner Urquel (?) on tap, and it's good.

- City Grill - This place a great fucking hamburgers (voted #1 by most publications), and you can get a seria nevada pale in a bottle.

- Flying Dog Brewery - just a brewery (with some great beer: tire bite kolsh is the best), I've never been on the tour, but I've seen on their web site that they are opening a distillery next door some time this year.

- Great Divide - just a brewery ( with some great beer: Yeti Imperial Stout - fucking awsome, Hercules Imperial IPA - Best I've had), not much of a tour, but they guys will stand around and talk beer with you.

--------------------------------------------

Near Down Town (proabaly don't want to walk)

- Bull and Bush - Brew Pub - Great food, great Beer (Man Beer IPA, and their Double MAN beer are exelent), modeled after some place in England with the same name.

- Breckenridge (BBQ) - This is the origional Breckenridge Brewery with a BBQ resturant.

-----------------------------------------------

At least half an hour or more:

Ft Collins:

- New Belgium - Belgins

- Odells - A good pale called 5 barell

Boulder:

- Avery - Great Crazy Belgins

- Boulder Beer - Mojo IPA

- Redstone Meadery

Longmont:

- Left Hand - the milk stout is great

Lyon:

- Oskar Blues - These are the guys that can Dales Pale Ale and Old Chub, and Gordan, I've also seen reciently in (Maxium or Playboy?) that they were voted one of the top 25 bars in the country, I think they have live bands on most nights.

Aurora:

- Dry Dock (this is actualy my LHBS, but the owner bought the place next door and started a brewery too, the Vanilla Porter, the Stout, and the IPA are great)

Idaho Springs:

- TommyNockers - Resturant and brewery, probably the best pale ale I've ever had, they make root beer too.

If I think of anything else I'll put it up, or if you have any questions.

Sorry about the spelling.

How the hell am I going to fit that into 3 1/2 days? Damn, cab fare is going to be pricey!

In addition to One_Eye's excellent post, there are several events going on around GABF as well:

Thursday Night 8PM - midnight: World Brewers Forum
http://www.kroc.org/DesktopDefault.aspx ... 5&tabid=12
Put on by one of the local brew clubs - Admission is free

Friday - My club is organizing a trip to Oskar Blues - transportation provided by Oskar Blues. Leaving Littleton (Denver Suburb at 11:30am - returning sometime in the afternoon)
PM me for more info.

There should be events happening at Falling Rock all week - Hopefully they'll post a schedule on their web site soon like last year.
