I registered my 4 entries (APA, IIPA, Porter, Stout) last night and was happy to pick "The Brewing Network" as my club.

There was talk on last week's show about whether it was on there as a choice... it was.

Anyway, I'm just entering for the feedback. Seriously.

I've decided to pass on entering NHC this year. I have a couple of damn good beers here, but they aren't to style according to the 3 competitions I've had them in so far. I do have some that are to style that are good but not competition grade. I'll just cheer for the rest of your guys.

I pretty sure I won't. I think I made some good beers, but I doubt they're winners. I just want to get some feedback.

Of course, a medal wouldn't offend me. :D

this is only my second competition... i didn't brew anything specific for the NHC, although i have been brewing in anticipation of our state fair. i'll enter 20 beers in the state fair (truly for "feedback", i don't think they're all super awesome or anything), but i'm only putting my better ones in the NHC. the only problem is that most of my entries are bigger beers and they're all relatively young. but since i'm going to the conference, it's worth a try. it's only 9 bucks a one bottle.

and my double IPA/barleywine was brewed as a DIPA, although it tastes like a barleywine. the reason i'm entering it in both is due to my own ignorance and retarded brewing practices. then the judges can tell me what it is!

There's too much damn time between dropoff and judging. You'd think as a brewer I'd have learned patience by now.

Perhaps they would do great if entered in a different subcategory? A lot of times figuring out the right subcategory is the key.
I hope my post helped in some way. If not, please feel free to contact me.
