Disqualification
All entrants must enter in their designated region. Entries received from outside of your region must be disqualified.

Brandon,

You'll note that there are no regions this year (or perhaps Canada is a region and the US is a region) but rather simply a number of judging sites which the entrant has the option of choosing among.

It seems likely that the Handbook is stale and it is impossible to interpret these regulations and so they ought to be ignored. That said, there exists the potential for a Site Coordinator to misinterpret the invalid regulations with disastrous results (I would guess that hundreds of entries will be strategically entered on a basis other than what the regions were or which site is nearest). If you have not received updated advice I would urge you to point out this inconsistency to the AHA. The website still has language about disqualification if you send them to the wrong site too. It is possible (based on private conversations in addition to the website) that not everyone is on the same page about this change which is totally awesome a couple of weeks before registration opens.

I dont have the updated site book for 2011, it's 2010 I was looking at. I was thinking rules like that would carry over but if they have re-done it to have no regions then I bet it will be reflected in the new book.

I e-mailed the AHA for clarity and here's Janis' response:

Hi xxx,

Yes, this year we are removing the restriction of entering in a specific region. Instead, we will have 9 Judging Centers in the US, and you can send all of your entries to any one of the Judging Centers. You cannot send entries to more than one Judging Center.

Cheers, :jnj
