Just a general question about the recipes you are required to provide for the second round. Is there a problem submitting a recipe for the beer that advanced that works out from a OG/IBU standpoint to be out of style?

nope, it was judged and qualified as the style you entered it as

you could mix a hefe, boysenberries and sinamar extract and call it a dry stout, if it got qualified as a stout then it's a stout
On tap 1: Dry Irish
On tap 2: El Jefeweizen
On tap 3: Vienna
kegged: Rye Amber, Belgian Dark Strong, CYBI Mirror Pond, Irish Red, RIS
lagering: Vienna, Helles, Cream Ale, CAP

You have to provide recipes for round two? Wierd. Why is that? Not that I mind, just curious.

I think they publish all the winners recipes in Zymurgy.

Yeah and I go up against the Pope and past meadmakers of the year with my meads. I feel so small...

Haven't received my (northeast) sheets yet, but according to the website, one of my beers advanced - I got second place with my Belgian Strong (Dark) with TBN as my club. Congrats to all.

With the Pope's divine guidance (and great recipe!), my West Coast Blaster took 3rd in the Old West region... Not sure how that happen... something about a blind hog....
