I have to agree was an excellent beginning to what I hope is a long running festival. The "Tap Handle" went over a little too well!

It was a great time, except where the large red man with the black t-shirt chased the much smaller and slower( due I think to many medals around his neck) man and savagely beat the smaller and slower man with the alarming tap handle. It kind of looked like the friend of that brave-heart guy, beating the brave-heart guy, with a large floppy spear. Certainly soured my beer and supplied nightmares since!

I was awarded 3 golds, 4 silvers, 6 thirds, and 5 Honorable Mentions. That was enough to win the Brewer of the Year Award aka The Rex Halfpenny Award. Rex helped to pass legislation to legalize homebrewing in Michigan. He also runs the Michigan Beer Guide. Check it out at: http://www.michiganbeerguide.com/ .

The year I have had in competition is what I have been aiming for for the past four years. With that in mind, it surprises me to realize that the bigger thrill was pouring for friends and beer lovers alike. I appreciate everyone who came out and worked the booth, you guys rocked. I look forward to seeing you all at future events!
