Well done. You're right, a score of 44 should fricking win, but homebrewers are getting so good at their craft nowadays.

A few years ago, my very delicious Belgian dubbel scored a 41 AND IT DIDN'T EVEN PLACE. And it was a small local competition with only like 150 entries! There must have been some pretty fricking awesome strong ales. Either that or they totally lost my scoresheets and didn't include in the rankings. Come to think of it, I never did get the scoresheets back. That was the time I had to email the organizer for the scores because they lost all my sheets. Jerks. :evil: Anyway....

My first competition was the 2007 mayfaire I only got a 2nd...
