Mon Feb 07, 2011 8:22 am

This is my second year of organizing my homebrew club's annual competition. Hope we can get a few more entries from the BN this year. See info below.

Cheers,
Mike

Do you have a world class Bohemian Pilsener on tap? Is that bottle of English Barleywine you brewed back in 2009 a Best of Show winner? Not sure what that off-flavor is in your Robust Porter? Find out by entering it into the 15th Annual Cascade Brewers Cup.

The window to register (go to http://www.wahomebrewers.org/cbc/) entries for the 2011 Cascade Brewers Cup is open and will remain open until February 25th. The five Western Washington drop-off locations listed below will accept your bottles between February 18th and February 25th. You may also mail your entries to Mountain Homebrew and Wine Supply (see address below), c/o Cascade Brewers Cup.

The first round of judging will take place on Saturday, March 5th. Entrants that place in the top three of each flight will receive prizes (approximate values: 1st ($50), 2nd ($40), 3rd ($30)) from one of our numerous and generous sponsors. Best of show winners for beer will receive sponsor donated prizes worth the following: 1st ($500), 2nd ($300) and 3rd ($150). We have also reserved sponsor donated prizes for a combined mead and cider best of show. For more information about the prize structure or anything else related to the competition (including judge registration) go to http://www.wahomebrewers.org/cbc/.

All participants are encouraged to attend the Cascade Brewers Cup ExBeerience event (http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/153508) the following Saturday, March 12th at Redhook Brewery in Woodinville, WA, where the Best of Show will be judged and the winners of each flight and BOS announced. We will try to notify flight winners prior the ExBeerience event, so that you can accept your award(s) in person.

Please pass this on to anyone you think might be interested in entering.

Cheers,
Mike Brown - CBC Organizer

P.S. If you are associated with the BJCP program in any way please consider judging this event. It was one of the largest homebrew competitions in the state last year and we expect even more entries this year. We can use each and every one of you on March 5th in Seattle!

Are any of these drop off points near Blaine, WA? I live in Vancouver, BC and would consider driving down to get some shopping done, and if theres somewhere near the border to drop off, it would save the hastle of shipping.

Cheers,

Sean.

Last year we had a place in Anacortes, WA that accepted entries. No one used it though.

I know there are some people entering the competition from Bellingham, WA. Maybe you could coordinate a drop off with them?

Any BNers from Bellingham willing to help out?

If I join up, I think I'll just drive to the border and ship once across... I'm thinking of picking up some stuff... (refractometer).
