Just missed you Mylo - spent last Wednesday and Thursday night at Pizza Port Solana Beach. That place is jumping after 5:30 and is great for the kids. Flew back to Maui Friday morning. The Lost Abbey tasting room is only open for tastings on Friday, Sat and Sun - did not want to drive out there just to purchase a few bottles.

I had not been in San Diego county for 20 plus years - more folks there now. Don't know about "sunny southern california" - end of July and was overcast most of my visit. It was sunny Thursday morning and still only 62F. Froze my ass off - or maybe the blood is really thin after too much Hawaiian time.

There was a pub called "Churchill's" that was happening too with a good beer selection, but maybe not for the kids.

If I told you I was in paradise, you wouldn't believe me. I am currently smoking a stogie, sipping homebrew 10 feet from mission bay. The weather is perfect the kids have (safely) disappeared, and I may never come home. If God chooses to take me now, Dirk McLargeHuge can have my brewing rig (he asked first).

If Dirk and Baloo happen to knock off each other in a cage match, I want second dibs on the brew rig. He requested the same for my DOTW medal and I think he would agree.

Glad it cleared up for this week. Last week (and most of July I'm told) was pretty dreary and overcast near the coast there.

p.s. You are still need to go another 2,600 miles to reach paradise, but you are getting closer.
