The Dixie Cup in Houston, Texas

Thu Aug 17, 2006 9:12 am

The Dixie Cup is one of the local competitions here in Houston. Anyone can submit and there is even an award for a First Time Enterant category, if you are like me and need a gentle shove to start competing. There is also a specialty category called 80/80, in which you have to brew a 1.080 OG beer with 80 IBUs to compete.

The event is Oct. 21-22.

Entries are due starting Sept. 18th and the deadline is October 6th.

Here is the website: http://www.crunchyfrog.net/dixiecup/

I will be entering a few categories with The Brewing Network as my club.

How about some of you West Coast sissy hippies out there enter some IPA's and try to show us what hops are all about. You might teach us something... but I doubt it.
