DuClaw Venom Pale Ale

Sun Jun 26, 2005 2:19 pm

The first "4" beer from any local brewer. On tap at the Bowie brewpub. Poured out a medium amber color, with a huge, white, sticky head at first. The head finally settled back to a sticky lacing along the top and sides of the glass. Aromas are of fresh malts, some yeastiness, and tons of hops. Sticky, resinous, grapefruity hops. Very aromatic. No alcohols in aromas or flavors. Medium body, thick mouthfeel. Very hoppy flavors, along with a strong malt backbone to back it up. Well balanced, well brewed. A top notch American Pale Ale. Finished bitter and hoppy. Highly recommended.
