Saint Bridget's Robust Porter

Mon Nov 06, 2006 6:54 pm

Last night I poured myself a bottle of Saint Bridget's Robust Porter from the Great Divide Brewing Company out there in Denver. It's a very nice drinkable beer. Very smooth, but not very "robust". This would be a very good "dark" beer to introduce to someone who says they don't like dark beers. I'm not likely to go out of my way to get another one, but I would certainly drink another if offered.

The most interesting part of this beer was a little blurb on the label explaining the name. It goes like this:
"Saint Bridget was a patron saint of Ireland, known for the amazing miracle of transforming her bathwater into beer for thirsty clerics."

Damn! I wonder what she looked like. I've only seen a few women so sexy I would be willing to drink their bathwater. 8)
On the other hand, I have had quite a few beers that tasted like they had been made with someones bathwater.
