Dogfish Head Immort Ale

Sun Jun 26, 2005 2:04 pm

12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a deep amber color, with a thin tan colored head. Aromas are of smoke at first, then some vanilla & a woodsy aroma kick in. Hint of alcohol in the nose. Flavors are of alcohol first & foremost, with a malty backbone to balance thing out some. Oak barrel, vanilla, and musty damp basement round out the flavors. Subdued hops, slightly earthy. Low carbonation. Vaporous alcohols kick in & clear out your sinuses. Finishes slightly dry, slight chalkiness also. Paired really well with the Irish Cheddar I ate with it.
