Schneider Aventinus - Easily one of my favorites!

Sun Jul 31, 2011 12:33 pm

This had a little bit of everything. The dominant aroma was banana and wheat. Also had hints of sweet grape and cloves. A slight alcohol smell that went well with the grape.
Sweet caramel and banana up front. Finished off with a spicy flavor.
This is one of my favorite beers.

Its been a couple of years since I've tried their Weizen-Eisbock, but I remember very high gravity with the similar banana, wheat and dark fruits. A real good beer that I should revisit soon.

Great beer ;) I remember when I could get it for $2.63 a bottle locally. It's gone up considerably since then :(

If I ever find it on draft I may chain myself to the tap...
