Cantillon Gueuze (Organic)

750 ml. green wine bottle. No freshness date seen. Black foil over crowned and corked bottle. I pulled the black foil off, only to find rust, muck, mud & some other foul smelling stuff all over the top of the bottle. Is this normal? I don't think so. Uncapped the bottle, pulled out the cork, noticed a 2002 on the cork. After I spent 5 minutes wiping the crud and grime off the top of the bottle, I poured it out. It pours out an odd orange-yellow color. It had a thick, white, meringue like head at first, then it slid back to a layer of foam on top of the beer. Very highly carbonated, champagne like. Aromas are of fresh cut hay, lactic wheat tang, sour oranges, and yeast. Lots of yeast in this one. Tastes are of sour oranges, lactic wheat, cheesy hops, and an old leather saddle. Strange sourness, and no fruitiness whatsoever. Tingly on the tongue, finished dry and sour.
