Breckenridge Christmas Ale

A solid "4" beer, at least to me. 12 oz. brown, longneck bottle, space for freshness date, but none stamped. Poured out a deep amber color, bordering on brown. Minimal tan colored head, but left a sticky lacing down the sides of the glass. Aromas are of toffee, chocolate malts, coffee beans, caramels, and alcohol. Tastes are of chocolate malts, toffee, caramels, slight estery fruitiness, and warming alcohol. It’s more of a subdued alcohol flavor, rather than an in-your-face kind of alcoholic flavor. Warming upon impact to the stomach. Medium mouthfeel, somewhat creamy. Flavors vary and change as it warms up slightly. Finishes warm, slightly bitter, but satisfying. More of an Old Ale, than an American Strong Ale. I bet it would age wonderfully for 2 or 3 years. Too bad it’s only a seasonal.
