11.2 oz. / 330 ml. stubbie brown Belgian bottle. Part of a six pack of Belgian ales I bought at Rips. No freshness date seen, but none needed at 9% ABV either. Very fresh product here. Loud ppfffttt when opened. Almost like a bottle of fresh Coca-Cola. Poured out a pale golden yellow color, with a humongous white head at first. It slid back to lumpy islands of yeast floating on a sea of beer. Aromas are pretty much non-existent. Smells a little soapy to me. Other than that, I can’t smell much. Slight maltiness about it, but nothing overpowering. Flavors are of fresh malts, slight horse blanket, and citrus. No alcohol aromas or flavors, same goes for the hops. Maybe a slight tang of Hallertau hops, but other than that, it’s not much. Slight dry biscuit flavors at the end. Very effervescent, almost champagne like. Constant bubbles rise from the bottom of my Chimay chalice, feeding the small but steady head. Finishes somewhat dry, but not overly so. A top notch triple in my book.
