Becks Dark

Mon Jun 20, 2005 6:53 am

Another in the taste test of Beck's beers. Poured out a rich brown color, with a fast fading head. No lace in the glass either. Smelled of malts, mostly chocolate and black patent. Aromas of stale coffee also. Not the best dark beer I've ever had, but also, not the worst. Had a strange aftertaste to it, like a coffee flavored ice cream or something. I won't be buying this again.

I just had one after work tonight. Haven't had one in quite some time. Not enough roast flavor for the color of the beer. I was expecting more coffee, chocolate or something. I think if I closed my eyes I wouldn't have thought it to be a dark beer. Not a bad beer, just not really good. Clean tasting for a dark beer.
If a little is good, then more is better, and too much is just right!
