Bud Light Golden Wheat and MAXIM TOP 25????

Wed Feb 10, 2010 6:11 pm

I'm pretty new here, but I saw a beer reviews section and felt an urge to post this immediately.

Anyone else get Maxim magazine and see Bud Light Golden Wheat put in the top 25 new beers in America list?

All of my thoughts are wrapped up in a video post I put together on my blog.

I'd be curious what you guys think to the questions that I pose.

i seen the magizine and figured BLwheat had no place on the top 25 new beers list.
i tried it, and didnt care for its watered down, fizzy charactor. now i'm not a big wheat fan but i know a good wheat beer when i have one, BLwheat is NOT
I can do it all.....and I can do it for ya......But I'm not gonna do it all for ya

why would you take Maxim's beer rankings seriously to begin with? Their target demographic is typically Natty Light chugging frat guys.

Well, I first started reading Maxim because of the chicks. Then I started to get into some of their product reviews of gadgets. Then I really started loving the "Girl Next Door" column in the back of the magazine. And every once in a while I enjoyed an article here and there, but it started taking a down turn earlier this year as I began to see exactly what you are saying, a frat guy targeted magazine.

So alas, this is just the straw that broke the camels back.

What bugs me is that I sent my video to Maxim and haven't heard anything back from them. We'll see how long their magazine lasts.

This kind of reminds me of when I first got to Portland, a bunch of people had their panties in a knot because Men's Health didn't put Portland first on their best beer cities (I think it came in after NYC and San Diego). Kind of funny, you know, what if people got mad because BeerAdvocate called the Prius the best new car or something? OK, bad analogy, but you get my point.
