I have a report for the rest of the Army

I'm currently drinking the best home brew that I have ever made

Its a Russian Imperial Stout, the recipe was from Northern brewer and I've aged it about 5 months

Its rich, creamy and has a great coffee note to it. What surprises me is how such a rich beer can so easily slide off my pallet and make me ready for the next drink. Is that what the brewcasters mean by balance??

I'm not kidding when I say this is the best beer I have brewed to date.

At 8.9% ABV with a staring gravity of 1.094, this is the biggest beer I have ever made and what a great beer it is!!!

I love it when I have created a recipe that equals or surpasses what I can purchase locally. For me, that is the whole point of this hobby. Those kegs are the fastest to run dry. Congrats!

your telling me!

You know how hard it was to age this thing for 5 months??

I had to act like it didn't exist!!

"What's in that keg?" "What keg? I don't see any keg. Must be my starsan solution"

it was hard!

Thanks!

Haha!

My inventory of batches like those always drops quickly until those last couple pints where I begin to regret drinking it all so fast and can't possibly stand running out. Those last couple pints last almost as long as the first half of the batch! :aaron

There's a pretty good brew pub around here (Pearl Street Brewery), but fuck me if I don't feel the same way every time I have their stout.

We have 8 "basic" beers we do on regular rotation, and our stout kicks their ass so much it's not funny.
