Panzer Pilsner

What the fuck is this shit, who wouold brew such a beer....just kidding Julian!

Ha hah...I had Port Brewing's Panzer Pilsner in a bomber last night at The Local. Wow! Great Imperial Lager!!! Nice Lager flavors with a huge fruity hop aroma. What are the aroma hops? I get cascade, centenial aroma, maybe amarillo ...Cheers!

Yeah, what makes this beer so good in comparison to say.... Sam Adams Imperial Pils - is that there is actually enough malt character to come through and balance with the hops. The SA version might as well have been hop tea. No malt character at all.

The beer is very German at its roots. The base malt is entirely German pils malt (with a few Euro specialty malts mixed in). It's hopped with a combination of Magnum, Saaz, Tettnanger, and Hallertauer. There are no American hops or malts used to make the beer. It's fermented cold with a German lager yeast and lagered for several weeks before it's hit with some dry hops (a selection of the aforementioned).
