12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. 2004 edition. Poured out a deep ruby / garnet reddish color, with a huge mocha colored head. Thick, sticky lacing left down the sides of the glass. Aromas are of chocolate malts, slight yeasty bread, earthy hops, slight caramel aromas as well. Tastes are of English Toffee, malty caramels, nuttiness, earthy hops, and very subdued alcohols. Rich, creamy mouthfeel, very smooth on the palate. Finishes rich, creamy, and slightly dry. A decent ale by any standard.
