16.9 oz. / 500 ml. brown bottle. No freshness date seen anywhere. Poured out a deep chocolate brown, with reddish highlights at the edges of it. Frothy, loose, tan colored head that slid back slowly to a thick matting of floating lace. Generous side lacing as well. Aromas are of Carafa malts, dark brown sugars, roasted coffee beans, some caramel, and an earthy hoppiness. Tastes are of fresh roasted coffee beans, caramel, sweet brown sugars, frothy espresso latte’, and slight hops bite at the very end. Alcohol is present in flavors, but not aromas. Very warming, and satisfying to a fault. Rich, thick mouthfeel and perfect carbonation make for a really enjoyable beer. Finishes rich, sweet, malty, and delicious. A top notch dopplebock.
