Russian River = finally!

Just got back from Bay Area and had the ultimate pleasure of visiting Russian River Brewery. The beers were phenomenal as expected. Especially enjoyed the likes of Consecration and Santification which they had on tap. Both very interesting sour beers and and well worth the trek to taste them.
Brought back a bottle of Consecration (10% dark belgian aged with currants in oak) to hopefully futher my own production of sour beers using some of the dregs to beef up my wild brewing!
Thank you Vinnie for producing fine beers for public consumption!

That's awesome. When I was there last year, there were no sours on tap. June 16th baby.... I'll pack extra tums.

That is a good idea. At least you will neutralize the sour stomach! A tasty pizza will help with that too!

I love Consecration, but Supplication is even better. Mmmmmmmm.

+1
I can't get enough Supplication. When my wife and I got back from Russian River last year, we brought a couple bottles back with us (Beatification and Supplication). All but one bottle of Beatification is gone. I love the Beatification... the ultimate sour to end all sours, but the Supplication is just such a nice beer.

Hell yeah... the pizza will help neutralize the sour stomach, but if you have some acid reflux issues, the acidity of the tomato sauce can give you other problems. That's why you wash the entire day down with some Blind Pig and Pliny.

Slow down. Taking notes. "Eat lots of pizza, then finish with Pliny." Got it. Will try it out June 16th.

I'm getting excited that my first trip from Germany back to Calif. in Sept to Sacramento is fast approaching. I plan on at least a day trip to bay area with wife and mother-in-law to visit all the beer pleasure places I can. What beers should I buy and pack in my carry-on for Christmas tasting from Russian river?; I love sours from Belgium. I hope to try all of what they have on tap, tour with video and make some tasting notes in my journal. I've never had the pleasure of any of their beers. Any votes for what I should buy. Money is no object. Maybe I can even mail a few home perhaps? I expect to have to take a least 6 home to try the last six nights I'm there at the house. I like silly things like that; listen to pod casts and try different beers on different nights. What can you tell me from experience to expect, except that good beer is waiting for me?
