Anyone have suggestions for MUST REVIEW beers that I should suggest that we do for the program?

spiderwrangler wrote:So I've been doing some video beer reviews with a local production that posts the reviews to youtube, and so far it's been a blast. Got to try some interesting stuff so far. The ones where I'm wearing BN gear haven't posted yet, but check out our review of Stone Enjoy By IPA...

And ... Dark Horse Plead the 5th Imperial Stout

If you like the videos, check out the other ones that The Better Beer Authority has done of the the last few years, they've grown quite a bit, and I'm just a recent addition to their review panel roster. Their initial review of Arrogant Bastard made some waves in the internet beer scene (the also had a good followup interview with Greg Koch). It was interesting for me to see their early shows, see them grow and develop, and then be able to join in and contribute, much the way I feel about the BN.

Anyway, feel free to check it out.

That's pretty cool. They're one of favorite beer shows to watch on youtube.

I just searched their youtube channel and noticed that they haven't reviewed Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro.

Checked out some of the videos, fun to watch and informative. thanks Spider. Was going to recommend Dead guy, but after some digging found it has been done. Maybe something from Elysian brewing in Seattle. Make some of my favorite beer, from here in Washington. Not sure if there distribution reaches the Midwest though. Looks like its mostly west coast and some of the east coast

Awesome, glad you like what they do (and I guess that includes me now too)! I'll certainly bring up the Milk Stout with them...

I'd LOVE to get some Elysian to try, but like you said, we don't get it distributed here in central OH. If you'd be willing and interested in a shipping exchange, we can talk!

He's posted the obligatory Top Ten of 2012 list. I'm on it at least once.

Sooo... we just reviewed Armageddon from Brewmeister in Scotland... supposedly the strongest beer in the world currently at 65%, but I have my doubts. In my opinion, definitely not worth the money, the only thing it had going for it is the supposedly high ABV, but it was either so well hidden as to feel like 8%, or this is just a scam. We tried lighting it, no dice. Seeing if it would freeze would be another test, but we didn't have any left by the time we thought of that. Not sure if anyone else has had this, but in my opinion (I was one of the 5's), don't waste time and money seeking it out. If I'd been handed this by a first time home brewer and been told it was his failed attempt at a Scotch Ale, I would have believed him.
