Tasty - damn fine beer! I'm glad I went out of my way to pick some of this up. Is the recipe posted somewhere already? If not, would you mind sharing it with us?

I'm confused. So you got a 12 pack of tasty's IPA or 2 of the Long Shot packs?

The recipe is here http://www.maltosefalcons.com/recipes/20060504.php. That's what I brewed for the Longshot and that's exactly what I gave Sam Adams. I brewed a batch so that it would be ready at the same time as the Longshot release. I had it at my homebrew club meeting tonight and I see why I never change it.

BTW, the Maltose Falcons are a great bunch of guys and, by my experience, if you ever get a chance to enter any of their competitions, you won't be disappointed. Always good feedback.

Tasty

I'm guessing Tat bought 6 six packs of Longshot at about $7.00 each to end up with 2 six packs of Tasty's

Whoo Hoo, I got mine today! I dropped of my entry for this year's long shot at UPS, and then went ot hte beer store. They only had like two cases of it, and I bought two sixers.

Tasty! DELICIOUS!!! I'm actually impressed at how close my version was last summer to this, but of course this is better... :D

Got a hold of 2 Longshot six-packs, so 4 of the double IPA's, very nice! I'd say the best beer Sam Adams has ever brewed. I like Pliny better, but SA should continue brewing this beer. I have brewed a few modified versions of this recipe, and the one in BCS, but never could quite hit the 1080 range, usually come in at a lesser gravity, around 1060, but still tastes pretty nice. My last version, just brewed last week, actually came in at 1078 and finally got some Centenial hops for it as well, so I'm looking forward to this one.

oh the Longshot Bock isn't too bad either. Haven't tried the wit yet.

Nice going, Tasty! :jnj Congrats on the release!

Finally got some here in the desert. It's a punch in the old tastebuds, for sure. It seems well supported by the toffee, caramel malt profile - much more so than S.A. Imperial Pils - which is all hops. The 9% alcohol gives a nice, lingering licorice sweetness in the finish. How did Jim source the dog hair for the mash, I wonder?
