Re: Sam Adams Noble Pils

it seems to me like they are using the same east coast lager strain. Everything is good about the beer but at the end it still tastes like a sam adams to me. Just like they do for every style, noble pils has that very distinct sam adams stamp all over it. I noticed this much more from the bottles than on tap.

For a non-sam adams fan this is as good as it gets

I picked up a six, and have tried it on two occasions as the first beer of the tasting.

It's a good pils, not a great one. Compared to American Pilsner Urquell I rate them about even. It falls short of genuine Czech Pilsner Urquell, and way short of Czech Gambrinus. It also seems to have a Sam Adams "house flavor". Perhaps that's unavoidable.

Charlie (hasn't seen genuine Pilsner Urquell or Gambrinus in quite a while)

This was tripping me up every time I saw the commercials too, I'm fairly new to brewing but I was pretty sure their are only 4 noble hops. Either way I like the beer, its cool to see them try a different direction with their beers.

I think you're gonna need more than one beer for all that.
