The La Roja and the Bam Noire were soured (the Bam only slightly), but they were ALL gushers. Some I could bleed pressure off of and save most of the bottle, but some blew their caps as soon as I bent them a little with the opener... I lost nearly half the bottles to foam. Disappointing.

You need to practice pouring quicker. Shame on you.

Stopped by a local beer distributor last night I had never visited that apparently has a great selection (for PA). Alerted the guy working that I wasn't buying anything, just wanted to check out their selection. Minutes later I was walking out with a case of this stuff. 8)

see if you can find bockor Cuvee Des Jacobins Rouge. my local bar used to have monk's cafe but couldn't get it anymore so they went on a quest to replace their everyday sour beer and found this stuff. i think it's quite a bit better. cleaner, a little more delicate.

Thanks Phil. $61 including tax for Monk's was reasonable to me. I can't rationalize spending much more on a case of beer and, unfortunately, that's the quantity I have to buy it in in this god forsaken state. Can you find the beer you suggested on ratebeer?

Had a Petrus Aged Pale last night. Golden Ale aged 20 months in Oak Cask. It was wonderful! Sweet and tart with a touch of oak and a nice infusion of brett from the oak. It finishes so dry, I just want to sip on it forever! Cheers!
Enjoy Great Beer!

I bought Duchesse de Bourgogne last weekend and I was totally knocked out by it. It reminded me of hard apple cider. I would have bought Cantillon if they had it at the bottle shop. I really didn't know what it was but I was hoping for a sour ale. I bought it because it said "wood aged" and I've been thinking about wood aging lately. :jnj
