Beer tasting is subjective so if you like this beer...great enjoy!

If your trying to decide if you want to buy some, don't!!! Spend a couple more bucks and support your local Craft Brewer

All due respect man, but none of us are saying that we really enjoyed Bud Ale, just that it's not a bad beer. When it comes down to it, Budweiser itself is a well-brewed beer, but it's really really really really (x200) boring. Hell, I've had other mass produced American lagers that tasted like buttered vegetables, that's bad. Boring does not automatically equal bad, just...boring.

And yes, beer tasting is subjective, but in this case, you are the subject and you haven't even sampled the beer in question. Your "opinion" is pretty meaningless, regardless of how keen your friends palate is.

There's a lot of valid reasons to hate A-B, don't get me wrong, sleazy marketing, constant attempts to make it difficult for craft brewers to get their beer on store shelves and their penchant for purchasing/buying in to good craft breweries, then running them into the ground. Hating them for making boring beer is pointless, it's like complaining that the sky is blue.

Cheers.

You misquoted me, i never said this, but i do agree with it ;)

TapItGood wrote:As I mentioned in my first post on this topic, A good friend had mentioned that he had tasted this "American Ale" and told me point blank it was CRAP! The friend I speak of is the Executive Chef at a very successful Craft Brewery and Restuarant and has an amazing pallat. He teaches classes on beer and food pairings. And is also working on a book of beer tastings. We've had tastings for many great beers and some not so great. But when he tells me to stear clear of a beer (hey that rhymes), he doesn't have to tell me twice. So that's where I'm coming from!

You are basing all this on somebody else's opinion of it. Even if they are an amazing palated exec chef brewer. Develop your own opinion. My only issue with what you are saying is your argument/opinion has no backbone. Coming and out and calling it piss, swill and crap isn't exactly a true or fair statement. "Crap" is a pretty poor assessment of this beer.

I'll stop now though, because my argumentative side will keep it going forever.  If you don't want to try it, I totally understand.

Damn it, I was just going to ignore the beer all together, like I do with most mega swill , but after reading through this post I'm going to have to pick some up and try it. Curses!

I have not tried this beer yet, but here is my $.02 on the subject.

First off, I would NEVER let what someone has told me about a beer influence if I "TRY" a beer. I will try any beer once....granted, I may spit it out, but even then, I would not be getting the full experience.

Be it from AB, Miller, or whoever...I will at least give it a fair shot.

Second...I agree 100% with TampaBrew on this one.....you are basing everything on this beer from someone elses opinion......Exec Chef, Brewmaster, whatever......I would not preach this as gospel, as you are, quoting it as "crap" until you have tried it yourself. However "amazing" his palate is....everyone tastes different....have you ever enter beers into a competition?? How many judges wrote comments on a beer, that was different from the others?? You could give the exact same beer to 5 judges, and I bet you could get 5 different responses to it.

It may very well be "crap", but I will make my own decision, based on MY palate, if I like it or not.

I just bought a 6'er... I'm sitting with my first glass and I was so shocked at how good it is I was coming here to post a review. It seems you beat me to it.
I gotta say its SHOCKINGLY good. I wasn't expecting much... actually what I was expecting was an overhopped craft wannabe brew.
It's nicely balanced with a wonderful citrus note from the cascade hops. It's really apitising looking too. Beautiful color, (even the head has a nice amber tint to it.)
I love it. It won't replace my disturbing love for craft beers but it can stand up with those wonderfull hand crafted brews.
Thanks for reading...
