Dogfish Head ApriHop

Sun Jun 26, 2005 2:03 pm

12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. Simple notch on front label indicates it was bottled in 2004. So much for a freshness date then. Poured out a deep amber color, with a thick, sticky, tan colored head on it. The head faded back to a thin ring of lacing around the rim of the glass. Aromas are mostly of hops, Belgian candi sugar, some caramel, malts, and a faint fruitiness to it. Tastes are mostly of hops, alcohol, malts, and slight fruitiness at the very end, in the order listed. I really can’t detect any apricots in this beer whatsoever. None in the aromas or the flavors. Slightly warming as it’s swallowed, but nothing other than that. Sorry, I just don’t get it.
