Avery IPA

12 oz. brown bottle. No freshness date noticed. Poured out an exceptionally clear golden yellow color. Fast fading off-white head left a thin lacing on top of the beer. Aromas right away of Cascade hops. Some maltiness also detected. Fresh cut grass aroma as well. Tastes a bit metallic at first, then the hops kick in. A weak malt backbone struggles to keep up with the hoppiness of this brew. Coats the tongue with a syrup-like consistency. Finishes bitter, and slightly metallic. A good beer overall, but the metallic taste detracts from the overall experience.
