Green Flash Barleywine

On Tap at Barclays in Oakland. Very Dark Ruby. Thin white head. Smells like nail polish remover. Tastes like nail polish remover, rotten cherries and crystal 120L with hop oil dribbled on top. Yuck. Redeeming qualities: It will get you drunk, I suppose, started to taste a little bit better after letting it warm up for 30 minutes, but not much. Maybe they need to let it age a couple years before sending this one out?
Cheers! Kippis! Skål! Prost!

Interesting. I had a bottle not that long ago. Although it was not the best of American Barleywines but the one I had was young but great hop presence and a big malt backbone. Alcolhol was present but perhaps there was another issue with the keg.
