I don't know, that "Simpler Times" lager at 6.2% in a can at the same price is pretty hard to beat, as far as drunk per dollar.

idunno man, we sell bitburger too and that can be damn tasty also, but with the handleing its such a gamble.
as far as it goes here in oregon, i know that our distributor has no refrigeration, our store rooms have no refrigeration and our sales floor has no refrigeration, and the only time that stuff gets rotated is when we sell out of it completely.
one time i sent some cases of hales ales back to the distributor because they were 4 months past code, i ended up having to argue with my boss about it because he thought that beer doesn't have a shelf life.

This doesn't contribute to the discussion, but I'm 5/6th of the way through another sixer of Mission Street IPA. :drink

This one must be fresher, the citrusy aroma is stronger. Mmmmmmm...

Hey mediumsk,

I took my first venture to Trader Joe's tonight, (the Beaverton one) lured by the prospect of good cheap beer and this thread. Well, that and my pregnant wife was freaking out for some dried mango slices with chili. So I bought the Simpler Times Lager for $3.99. Well honestly I have to say, it's pretty fucking nasty. At 6.2% though, it quickly gets nearly tolerable.

Trader Joe's kicks ass. I told the checker this was my first time in Trader Joe's and he comped me the chili mango slices! I will be back soon.

A bunch of my cycling buddies thought it would be fun to try and get sponsored by simpler times lager - wear Jerseys with their logo/pic on it. I quickly quelled that idea because the beer is terrible. I refused to drink it because it was just wasting calories. Pretty much anything else in the store is better than simpler times. The Black Hart Dry Stout is pretty good.

Mylo,

I got laid off in AZ, then hired back but had to transfer to Oregon. Posted about it here: http://www.thebrewingnetwork.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=15914

It's alright though, I grew up in Washington and I have been trying to get back to the Pacific Northwest for a while.
