50 point Two-Hearted Ale? Pretty close

Tue Sep 08, 2009 3:37 pm

I was out to dinner with my wife at Slows Bar-b-Que in downtown Detroit. I started with a Stone 13th anniversary which I really liked. When our food arrived I had a Bell's Two-Hearted Ale off a firkin. It may have just been that perfect night with killer food but that Two-Hearted knocked off my feet. It was amazing. I have always been a big fan of that brew but with it in the firkin and the killer ribs it was one of the best beers I have had in ages. I guess the moment has a lot to do with the overall impression of a beer.

As a side note this Saturday will be 6 weeks of lagering for my Oktoberfest. Saturday I will transfer from the bright tank to the keg to carbonate. I cannot wait to try it and the plan is to tap the keg on the 19th of September for Oktoberfest.
