Fridge down! Fridge down!

Tue Jul 15, 2008 1:09 am

My serving fridge just crapped out on me. GE, say 1980's era fridge. Its like theres no power at all to the thing. The light doesnt work (replaced bulb). Checked outlet and breaker. Both good. Does anyone out there have any idea on what the hell happened to my fridge? Any HVAC peeps got advice? Please help!

Time to bite the bullet and get a new one. The old ones like that aren't worth the $$$ to fix and eat too much electricity anyway. You can buy a late model used one for less than what it would cost to try to resurrect one that old.

Craigslist, dude. I've been able to pick up a few freebies over the years.

Check your local newspaper and town papers. someone is always getting rid of fridge for free, or at a reasonable price.

If the light doesn't even work it could be a connection where the power cord attaches. Can you pull a cover off the back and check it?
