I foung this kegerator for sale for $500.00. Comes with a 20lb. co2 tank.


It is setup for sanka kegs with 2 towers and 3 taps. Can this be converted for korney kegs and if so how difficult would it be? If a sanka keg physically fits inside, wouldn't a korney fit also? Sorry, I don't have either so I don't know.

Finally...should I buy this or save my money and build my own (freezer converted)?

Of coarse it would probably cost $750 by the time I was done but, I'm a tight wad!

$500 is a great deal. If that is a Beverage Air or True - those go for close to $2Gs. I would check into the reputation of the seller - if on eBay. If the compressor is fucked you might consider buying a new one. Switching over to cornys is just a matter of changing out a few fittings. If you do it right you can easily switch between sankes and cornys.

As far as fitting a Corny keg into a cavity designed for 1/2 barrell kegs? No problem, they're all roughly the same height. Some are squater than others, usually 13.2 gallon, 7.5 gallon, or 19 liter kegs, or other import or specialty brewery's/suppliers. Some breweries use unorthodox shaped kegs but generally your dealing with a shorter vessel and not a taller one.
