Changing lines in my kegerator -- HELP!

I've got a two-tap tower (I think Micromatic, but I don't know) on a Sanyo 4912. I really need to get the lines changed out, but can't get the tower disassembled.
There are two nuts (one for each tap) attaching the shank to the tower and I can't for the life of me get the nuts loose.
I looked at a number of things like this:

Any chance of just cutting the oetiker & threading a new line up from the bottom? Might take a few tries, but I'd imagine if you could get it started it shouldn't be too hard to reach in from the top & pull it the rest of the way on using two fingers. You'd just have to remember to put a new clamp on the end of the hose first, as that could be a bitch to work up the line. You can still pinch it from the top.
My small kegerator has a chrome tower & I messed around with it a little bit, but never changed the hose on it.
Good luck! I don't know of any easy work-arounds.

Have you tried just screwing the faucet off? That should loosen the nut on the other side.

Isn't there a swivel nut holding the barb fitting to the shank you can take loose without an exotic wrench?
Post a picture of your situation if you can.
Good luck!

I'm just glad my stubby shank still can!

That's what I get for buying stuff from KegWorks. But hey, it was my first build & I didn't know any better. Hoping to replace the POS regulator they sold me someday soon.

I'll get a pic posted when I get home from work.
I've taken off the faucets, but I think at that point all I have is a shank that's bolted to the tower.
Thanks for your thoughts on this guys.
Cheers!
