Label Size

I'm trying to come up with some labels. The only thing is, where do you guys get your blanks, and what size are they? I'd like to have 'normal' sized labels if good ones are out there that are still inexpensive. It'd also be great if they were relatively water resistant. It'd be great to be able to bring them places in a cooler with ice. I tried searching for answers to these questions, but couldn't find anymore than what 1-2 people do.

I print my labels on plain paper with an ink jet printer using Microsoft Publisher. To make them water resistant, I grab my trusty old tape gun I use for sealing up boxes. I just tape the label to the bottle, making sure the label is completely covered. Be sure to make sure the tape extends at least 1/8" beyond the edge of the label so water doesn't seep underneath the tape. If the label is wider than the tape, make sure the tape edges overlap by that same amount. This will usually keep the label safe from water for a couple of hours.

I use GIMP (free software) to create my labels.
Print them at work and attach to bottles with milk.
Means they come off easily with a soak next time - however they tend to stay stuck on after long fridge periods, so they provide me with the best of both worlds.
Ink does not run either.

Have a few questions.
Is it the Milk that prevents the ink from running?
Is this standard papar you are using?
Are the labels being printed on InkJet or Laser printer?

Yes just standard paper.

Lader printer... I'm not familiar with that technology. I've been using label paper that I can print on and wet to stick to the bottles. Not water proof, but since I'm bottle conditioning, my beers don't do so well sitting in a cooler of ice water anyway. At that point I'd be more concerned about the massive yeast load than the missing label.

Which explains why it doesn't run, standard InkJet I think would run with the appication of any liquid medium.
