Who needs a thermowell?

Bone head brewing move of the day?

I decided to drop some gelatin into 2 new kegs of my American Brown.

Boiled up my water, waited for the temp to come down to 170, put in the Knox, let it sit for about 10 minutes with the thermometer in it. Gave it another stir and headed to the Keezer. Released the pressure on keg one, popped the top, poured about half of my gelatin in, AND MY ELECTRONIC MEAT THERMOMETER.

Tried unsuccessfully to fish it out with bbq tongs.

Sanitized another keg and built a keg to keg line. Transferred to the new keg.

Downside: my arm and bbq tongs could not have been a smart move, I am going to blame that one on my wife. And I generally feel like an incredible idiot.

Upside: I have a new tool and skill at my disposal for the keg to keg. Might come in handy this summer if I want to carry clear beer to a party.
