Synthetic Cork Popping

Hey guys. Anybody use synthetic corks w/out the cages? I've used them for a couple of batches and had no problems. I have a saison in 750ml Champagne bottles that I'm holding at 68 right now. They have been bottle for 8 days and now a few are starting to come out. They are just sliding right out and a bit of beer is following. Anyone had this problem before? Not sure what to do. Most are in about 90% of the way, a few are about 80% or so. Doin' a bit of head scratching here...And I've done a saison at 3.5 volumes before in these bottles with these corks.

I'd just cage them. That's what the cages are for.

Granted. But these are not the cageable type. They are just a regular synthetic cork. They look like this:

They don't necessarily have to be a champagne type cork. I seem to recall a past issue of Brew Your Own from the past year that had an article on corking Belgian style beers. In this instance, the corks used were straight corks that were inserted to about 80 to 90 percent and then caged. The corks would naturally mushroom as the pressure from the carbonation would force the corks against the foil and cage.
Hoping this helps,
Alan
